After 1.5 years of development, WINTER & COMPANY has created an innovative and sustainable cover material with TOILE OCEAN. The naturally mottled fabric feels very high-quality to touch. The product, mainly made of ocean plastic, is woven from 100% recycled plastic waste and coated with water-based acrylic. The product is characterized by its high durability. TOILE OCEAN can be offset printed and finished with screen printing and foil stamping. TOILE OCEAN is suitable for premium packaging, hang tags and shopping bags. TOILE OCEAN is available in six natural colors.

Among the most remarkable progressions is the capability to upcycle raw and recycled materials into premium packaging, reducing the necessity for fresh resources. Leap™ is a next-gen material based on upcycled apple pulp waste from the Danish juice industry. Leap™ feels strong and alive - a soft, luxurious material with a familiar feeling. The surface can be smooth or textured. Experience a supple handle you’d expect from leather, made from apple.

What is Sustainability, and how does it apply to the luxury packaging market?
Sustainable has several different connotations in our market, all of which are worth considering when you are looking at a sustainable packaging program.
Recycled Materials
There are two different categories of recycled materials: Post Consumer Waste (PCW) or Post Industrial Waste (PIW). Materials which use recycled materials and do not require virgin products to be produced and also have a benefit of reusing the raw materials that otherwise would have gone to landfills. Examples of PCW products would be taking plastic water bottles used by consumers and making a new fabric from these such as the Chamel Recycled. Examples of PIW products would be taking leather scraps from leather product production and using this scrap leather to make a bonded leather product, such as Wintan. This process is know as up-cycling.
Biodegradable Materials
Almost all natural materials are biodegradable. All silk, cotton, linen and wood products are biodegradable. In our industry we can use cardboard instead of plastic for box frames, silk instead of polyester for the interior box linings, cotton instead of microfiber for a pouch. Additionally papers which are uncoated are also considered biodegradable.
Recyclable Materials
Want a shopping bag that can be recycled? Or an outer packer box? We can help you to develop programs for your customers which have clear instructions on where or how the client should recycle a product. While not all products are able to be recycled, we can help your client identify which products they can recycle and even provide QR codes to assist with this on a local basis through a third party service we partner with.
Reusable Products
The product that is kept and reused is a wonderfully sustainable product! We hope to help you create heirlooms your client will want to keep such as a gorgeous jewelry box.
